The number of flu deaths in Alabama continues to rise, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Nearly 90 cases of possible flu related deaths in Alabama are being investigated.
This is the eighth straight week widespread flu has been reported in Alabama. Governor Kay Ivey declared a public health emergency on January 11th. Most of the deaths have been in the northern half of the state.

No reported deaths in Tuscaloosa have been attributed to the flu.
