The Times Daily in Florence is reporting that the founder of Fame Recording Studios, Rick Hall has died at age 85.

Sources say that Hall died this morning at his home. Judy Hood, a board member of the Alabama Music Hall Of Fame confirmed Hall's death by saying, "It's a very, very sad day for Muscle Shoals and music in general".

She also revealed that Hall had been living in a nursing home in the Shoals, but returned home just before Christmas. In addition, a post on the Alabama Music Hall of Fame Facebook Page announced his death and honored Hall.
