Alabama has made an early splash on National Signing Day after adding the nation's top cornerback, Patrick Surtain Jr.

The 5-star prospect and son of an NFL player picked the Crimson Tide over LSU and many other programs. The Florida native is considered one of the top 10 overall prospects in the entire country and he has the potential to contribute immediately at Alabama.

Surtain announced his decision live on ESPNU on Wednesday morning.

One of the reasons Surtain chose Alabama is because "they win championships."

His commitment gives the Crimson Tide 18 total players in the 2018 signing class with a few spots remaining.

All of the 2018 National Signing Day coverage on Tide 102.9 and 100.9 is presented by Tuscaloosa Tire & Service.
