All Star Spotlight for Smash Mouth this Flashback Friday

Hey now, you're an all star, get your game on and go play for this B101.7 Flashback Friday! Our spotlight this week is on Smash Mouth and their summer hit from 1999.

What ends up being one of the group's top charting hits, 'All Star' climbed up to #4 of the Billboard Hot 100. This song has the right recipe for this time of year, by being fun and care free.

The upbeat 'All Star' has also seen the big screen by being featuring in 1999's Mystery Me, 2000's Digimon: The Movie, Shrek in 2001, and Rat Race in 2001.

Also, considering the tragic news of the fatal police officer shootings in Dallas, I'd like to recognize the "all stars" who serve in what is already a very dangerous and far too often thankless role in our community. Sure, there may be some 'bad apples' on the tree, but we can't just turn our backs on all of those who really care and do the right thing. More hatred won't fix anything. Let's join together to stop the madness.
