It's another VIDEO edition of the B101.7 Beauty Report, and I am about to change the way you view massage for like, FOREVER. Get ready to have some serious knowledge dropped on you today!

I stopped by Gilda's Salon and Day Spa (on 15th Street here in T-Town) yesterday to meet with their Licensed Massage Therapist Lindsay Patilla. I've always thought of receiving a massage as a luxury, as something you do to pamper yourself, and while there is nothing more relaxing than a great massage, Lindsay helped me learn that massage is so much MORE than that.

Here's a shot of the interior of the massage suite. The lights are usually much dimmer, but you can see this room is a great place to relax.

Lindsay took me back to her massage studio, which was amazingly tranquil--just setting foot in there made me feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. We talked about how massage therapy can be an integral part of your chronic pain treatment pain. I suffer from chronic pain, so learning that something like massage might actually better my quality of life was all I needed to hear to pique my interest.

Check out Lindsay's certifications--she's legit! And she looks like Jennifer Anniston, which makes me a little jealous, but that's irrelevant because she is SUPER talented, and that's what we're talking about now.

Lindsay's been extensively educated in the field of massage therapy. She explained to me that massage can improve circulation and release muscular tension, and that she works with each client to create an individualized treatment plan to combat his or her specific problems. Lindsay is certified in Deep Tissue Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, and Neuromuscular Therapy, so she's the REAL DEAL. She can put her skill set to work to help to alleviate the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Back Pain, Neck Pain, TMJ Disorders, Migraines, and other chronic pain conditions.
