Birmingham’s Annual Greek Food Festival to Be Held Thursday, September 15, Through Saturday, September 17, 2016

The Birmingham Greek Food Festival is this weekend, and you don't want to miss one of the best food festivals in the state. Seriously: this festival is like Christmas for me. It is INSANE how much delicious Greek food you can get for such great prices--and the atmosphere can't be beat.

This year's Birmingham Greek Food Festival will take place Thursday, September 15, through Saturday, September 17, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m each day. This is your chance to sample incredible Greek fare like Dolmathes, Souvlaki, Pita, Greek Chicken, Gyros, and pastries like Baklava, Melomakarona, and Loukoumathes. The festival is held outside the Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral, located at 307 19th Street South in Downtown Birmingham.

There's also entertainment each day of the festival; you'll love the live music and enjoy watching the performances of Greek dancing.

And there is also food.

Did I mention that?

SO. MUCH. FOOD.

My advice: wear stretchy pants and be prepared to buy several to-go boxes, as this magical event only happens once a year.
