Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with This B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight

Welcome to the first weekend of May and the weather couldn't be nicer around Tuscaloosa. In the spirit of Cinco de Mayo, let's get the fiesta going with this B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight! We look back on the Latin pop explosion of late 90s.

It was the spring of 1999 as the world went crazy for the #1 hit song "Livin' La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin! The song translated to mean say living the crazy life, was the lead into Latin pop explosion on the charts to end the millennium! Ricky was in great company with the success of Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Shakira.

The song was ranked at number 28 on the list of 100 Greatest Songs of the 90's by VH1. It is Martin's signature song.
