Spend your weekend downtown--the Druid City Arts Festival will be held Saturday at Government Plaza! This year marks the 7th year of the annual festival that celebrates the vibrant arts community in and around the Druid City; the festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Come out to Government Plaza to check out the festival and see work from local artists. Last year, over 85 artists attended the festival; they presented everything from paintings to sculpture, photography to music, and handmade goods like clothing and jewelry. Many artists have items available for purchase, so be prepared to take home a piece that catches your eye! See the full 2016 DCAF Artist Lineup HERE.

In addition to art and live music, DCAF also features amazing activities for kids. I went to the festival last year with my daughter, and we made crafts together. She got her face painted and made a painting of her own with UA art students; she made new friends checking out a bounce house, too!

There will be food vendors on site for the DCAF, and you can always make a day of it by visiting one of downtown Tuscaloosa's awesome restaurants. This year marks the first-ever designated Entertainment District in T-town, which means you'll be able to bring your drinks with you as you stroll downtown.

The Druid City Arts Festival is free to attend and showcases music and visual arts while providing families and children with an opportunity to learn more about the arts and humanities. DCAF is sponsored by the Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports and Cadence Bank.
