Arctic air has made its way to Alabama, and the National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Hard Freeze Warning and a Hard Freeze Watch for the state. 

A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect until 8am Thursday morning, and the Hard Freeze Watch is in effect from Thursday morning through Saturday morning. You can read the latest from the Weather Service below.

SATURDAY MORNING...

* TEMPERATURE...will range from 10 to 20 degrees each morning. A
  few locations across the northern counties could experience
  singe digit lows Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...prolonged exposure to these temperatures could
  result in exposed water pipes freezing and possibly bursting,
  as well as killing sensitive vegetation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Hard Freeze Warning means very cold temperatures are imminent
or highly likely. These conditions could be hazardous to
property, pets, and plants.

A Hard Freeze Watch means very cold temperatures are forecast to
impact the area, and could be hazardous to your property, pets,
and plants.
