Welcome the fun when you meet Jack, a less than 1 year old male Terrier mix dog who is our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama! His name is Jack and he is ready to jump into your life, so that would essentially make him your Jumping Jack!

This good looking guy has a thick white coat with black and brown markings and black speckling. Jack weighs in at 19.5 pounds, and is expected to grow a little more, possibly up to 25 pounds.

Jack was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up by animal control as a stray.  Jack was down there for 2 months and no one came to claim this cute fellow.

The Humane Society of West Alabama shares with us that Jack is full of energy and spunk. Hey, that makes him a true terrier!  Volunteers also say that Jack is very friendly and playful and would make a great workout partner.

If you're considering adopting Jack, he should be okay in an apartment, if he gets plenty of exercise.  If you're going to have Jack outside at all unattended, you'll need a fenced in yard. Otherwise, he may run off.  Those who have been around Jack know that he loves to be with you and will want to be inside when you are inside.  Also, he should be okay with children 10 and up, since Jack is still a puppy. He could be a bit mouthy and jumpy.  Jack seems to do well with other dogs, if they like to play.  He tends to be the dominant dog.

Jack is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Also, he has started crate training.

Are you looking for a dog to get you out and about, then Jack is the one for you!
