Laundromat Catches Fire One Block Down From Tuscaloosa Townsquare Media!

So, earlier this evening, at approximately 6:07pm, while I was doing my show here at Star 101.7, I heard a swarm of sirens, screeching by the studio windows. The sirens were LOUDER than normal, as I said to myself, "Those sirens sound awfully close!" And when I looked out the window, I saw that 3 Fire Trucks were parked a HALF a block away from the radio station!

It was The Laundry Nook that was on FIRE! Just a stone's throw away from the Townsquare Tuscaloosa Broadcasting studios! In fact, the only thing separating our buildings from each other, is the U-Haul building right next door!

I observed several fireman entering the building with their hoses, and extinguishing whatever blaze there was. I could not observe any exterior damage to the building. But, the interior was FULL OF SMOKE!

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. However, 4 pairs of Hanes Underwear were BADLY BURNED! :-)
