I know you just read the headline to this article and thought, "How can a simple makeup tip change my LIFE?" I may have a penchant for hyperbole, but I am being straight-up with y'all: this tip is a total game changer.

How do you get your makeup to stay in place? You can try setting sprays, reapply powder a bajillion times, or blot excess oil with absorbent tissues all day long--but even then, there's a chance that your makeup's going to melt right off. You spend half your morning working to create the perfect look--foundation, contour, blush--but it's gone by the time you get off work. And in the Alabama humidity? Please. You're lucky if your makeup lasts until lunchtime.

NOT ANYMORE, LADIES. The insanely talented and amazing makeup artist Wayne Goss shared a tip on his YouTube channel this week that will revolutionize your makeup game: apply powder BEFORE you apply your foundation.

It's that easy: apply your setting powder BEFORE your foundation. I know it's the inverse of your normal routine, but it WORKS. Wash your face, moisturize, apply your primer, and then use a setting powder BEFORE you put on your foundation. The powder will soak up oil throughout the day and keep your foundation (and the rest of your makeup) in place ALL DAY LONG.

I used Wayne's method for the first time Saturday. I put my makeup on in the morning, and we spent most of the day outside at this year's Druid City Arts Festival. I walked around downtown for hours, and my makeup didn't even begin to melt down. By the time I was ready to take my makeup off (around 8 p.m.), it still looked as good as the moment I finished applying it. If Wayne's method works so well for a day at the park, just imagine the kind of staying power you could have for big events like weddings, parties, or proms. I told you: straight-up GAME CHANGER.

Wayne Goss is a GENIUS. This simple trick will seriously change your makeup routine forever--just think about it: you don't have to worry about makeup meltdown. It's so easy, and the results will blow your mind. Check out the video below for Wayne's tutorial.
