The U.S. News and World Report released its annual list of the top 100 places to live in America and only one Alabama city was included.

The list, which takes five different factors into account, ranked Birmingham as the 80th best place to live in 2016. The city received a 6.1 for an overall score, a 5.3 for quality of life, and a 7.3 for value.

The top five cities were:

  1. Denver, CO
  2. Austin, TX
  3. Fayetteville, AR
  4. Raleigh-Durham, NC
  5. Colorado Springs, CO

To come up with these rankings, the U.S. News and World Report weighs the five following criteria:

  • Quality of Life Index - 30%
  • Value Index - 25%
  • Job Market Index - 20%
  • Desirability Index - 25%
  • Net Migration - 10%

Out of the 100 cities included on the 2016 list, not one has a population of 200,000 or fewer. However, smaller cities made up the majority of the top 100. A total of 48 with a population of 200,000 to 1 million were included.
