A cold morning didn't keep enthusiastic supporters from coming out to the 2015 West Alabama Heart Walk! The American Heart Association stated around 1,500 participated in the event held at Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 4 killers - heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family.

During the opening festivities on Valentine's Day, I had fun walking around meeting and talking with walkers.  Some of them chose to run the 5K course taking everyone down the River Walk along the Black Warrior River.  It was great to see Big Al made it out there too!

Here's the photo gallery featuring lots of smiling faces during the festivities before the main event, the walk!

Below is video of everyone stretching and warming up before hitting the road for the 5K walk!

We're working on uploading video of everyone crossing the start line. Check back for that here or on the B101.7 Facebook page. Plus, B101.7 YouTube subscribers will be sent the alert once posted. It's easy to subscribe, hit the link below.
