A perfect way to enjoy Halloween eve is going to the 8th Annual Freaky Friday 8K Run! If you dare, come out at night to run along the Northport side of the river, as you try to avoid the monsters who may lerk in the woods.

The Freaky Friday 8K is a local favorite for many reasons, this most unique of a Halloween experience delivers on fun! Not only is there an 8K (nearly 5 miles) race, there is a most spooktacular post race party at Dreamland in Northport with food and beverage. That's right, lots of ribs for all. Plus, all three Tuscaloosa breweries will have beer for runners over 21 to try. This includes, Druid City, Black Warrior and Band of Brothers. It's Tuscaloosa Craft Beer Week, and these guys have collaboarated on a limited edition pale ale called Rising Tide.

Besides, the food and drink. There is a costume contest! It's quite the scene to see all the different costumes people wear running this event, which just adds to the fun!

The Freaky Friday 8K benefits the Alabama State Troopers Association. Walk up registration will be available Friday night (Oct. 30th) starting at 7:30 p.m. and the race begins at 9 p.m. at Dreamland in Northport on Bridge Avenue.
