As we roll into the fall season around Tuscaloosa and West Alabama, it also introduces our other severe weather season.  Late tonight and early Friday, we could have a squall line of showers and thunderstorms, with the capability to produce strong and damaging straight line winds.

The threat is being called isolated. But, it's definitely worth noting, especially since the worst of the storms could hit in the middle of the night, while you're sleeping. This weather event also serves as reminder to have a severe weather plan.  Below is a link to our 'Severe Weather Guide' with lots of helpful tips and information.

In the map below from the National Weather Service in Birmingham, the timing of potential severe weather is outlined.

On the other side of the storms, we're going to get our first taste of real fall weather. The forecast low for Saturday morning is in the 40s, with the high later in the day only in the 60s. It will be noticeable and will get people like me even more in the mood for all things pumpkin. I may even need to break out the big pot to make my should-be famous chili.
