We’ve over a month before The Walking Dead finally pulls back the curtain on Season 7 (and Negan’s victim), but AMC isn’t about to make that wait any easier. The latest promo for Season 7 once again keeps the focus on Negan himself, even showing off a bit more of his home.

Long before Jeffrey Dean Morgan picked up the bat as The Walking Dead’s Negan, we knew AMC would reign in the foul-mouthed character’s language, occasionally allowing for alternate takes. Now, Morgan himself reveals that Season 7 makes regular use of “F-takes” to accommodate the character’s more colorful swears, but will we ever see them?

If perhaps you worried that The Walking Dead Season 7 promotional tour might remain as mercilessly teasing as the finale itself, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. In addition to the first, familiar-seeming photo, the official Comic-Con 2016 key art for Season 7 teases … well, another very familiar sight.

AMC’s love of comic book culture has spread like wildfire in recent years, from two Walking Dead series to Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men to Preacher, and now Dead creator Robert Kirkman will fan the flames. The network has officially commissioned a new History of Comic Books docu-series exploring the medium’s very origins into 2017.

The Walking Dead Season 7 has already begun production, kicking off a new round of fan investigation to fill the void of Game of Thrones‘’ latest twist, and giving producers one hell of a challenge to keep Negan’s victim under wraps. That said, creator Robert Kirkman isn’t done defending the controversial cliffhanger, likening it to the best episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and wanting fans to hope, not grieve.

Death on a genre series is increasingly difficult to accept these days, something The Walking Dead learned the hard way in Season 6 when fans easily deduced Glenn’s survival from an apparently-grisly demise. That super fan-sleuthing again reared its head with the Season 6 finale, but series star Lauren Cohan says viewers may be wasting their time picking apart the audio of Negan’s now-famous kill.

Apart from The Walking Dead Season 6’s controversial finale denying us the identity of someone’s “Last Day on Earth,” comic fans of the AMC horror smash also missed out on one of the more horrific visuals ever to grace the series. Now, Greg Nicotero’s latest FX test could point the way to a certain batty end, and whoever it is looks to be taking it like a champ.
