Enjoy the weekend while you can, as Wednesday is April 15th, tax day!  That's theme for this B101.7 Flashback Friday spotlight!

Here's a story of guy who had hit it big on the pop charts in the early 90s.  It made him millions.  But, he spent it as fast as he made it!  The lavish lifestyle kicked in, buying a million dollar mansion with a staff of 200.  There was also a large entourage of over 40 following him around.  Spending more than what was coming in and building up $13 million in debt!

April of 1996, this pop superstar filed bankruptcy and lost it all.  Everything, including his master recordings.   The I.R.S. was standing by and received over $1.7 million in a settlement.

The tax nightmare for this guy doesn't end there.  Just this past year, he was approached about payment for penalties and interest on the delinquent 1996 taxes, as reported by TMZ.  Papers were filled asking to block this request on principles of fairness.  What he probably told them, 'U Can't Touch This!'

If you didn't know who I was talking about at first, that last line may have helped to know this is the story of M.C. Hammer.  Yes, the guy famous for the really baggy pants and sideways dance moves. His claim to fame, 'U Can't Touch This' became a global sensation in 1990.
