Severe storms are in the forecast for tomorrow, and we could see tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail in West Alabama.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed most of our listening area under an elevated risk area for tomorrow's severe weather event. We could see tornadoes, damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH, and quarter-size hail.

Storms are currently expected to impact Tuscaloosa between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday. There's an 80% chance of precipitation, and we could see rainfall amounts of up to a quarter of an inch Wednesday evening alone.

Here's the latest Hazardous Weather Outlook from the NWS:

Severe thunderstorms will be possible between noon and 10 PM on
Wednesday as a cold front moves through the region. There is an
elevated threat of damaging winds along and north of a Cuba to Calera
to Heflin line, where isolated brief tornadoes and large hail will
also be possible. For the rest of Central Alabama, there will be a
limited threat of damaging winds and hail.
